Look out - Its an idea!

Here is the punch line of an ad: "All Wall-Street needs are ideas". The punch line wouldn't really make an impact unless you see the visuals. Each scene has a different business setting. Everything in each scene begins to disappear except the people who are interacting in the scene. Furniture, coffee mugs, professional degrees - everything.

Though the ad takes aim at investments, I think it applies very well to workplaces. Really all we need is an idea, everything else will follow. The reason why a lot of us feel trapped at work or find our work dissatisfying is because we are all riding somebody else’s idea.

It’s true! All we need is an idea. The problem is the idea is hard to come by and even harder to spot. So then all we can do is ride along with somebody else.

if everyone has an idea and start their own business, who is there to ride on someone's idea and chill out in life? i prefer working in some company, get paid and have my own happy life, spending that money which someone else's idea generated.... i think the small business boom in the hot areas of the world is driving youngsters crazy wherein everyone is thinking that they are being 'trapped' into serving the interest of others... c'mon, go grab a beer with your salary and have a good time

I would think that a person feels trapped when they are not really working in a field that they are truly "passionate" about. But after giving it some thought, I realized that even if you are in a field that you really like you may be constrained by the limitation imposed by the company or person you are working for... Starting out on your own would give you more freedom to spread your wings... but then not everyone has the courage, patience and will power to start a business on our own. Most of us lack the entrepreunership qualities and prefer the security of taking a fixed pay check home every month....for that we may even be willing to forego pursuing the "idea"!!!
